Reports suggest that Google is in deep conversation to acquire Meebo for a massive $100 million! This source has come directly from often reliable AllThingsD.
Meebo was first founded in 2005 by CEO Seth Sternberg as a messaging app for the browser. This still existing to date and is known as Meebo Messenger. Since then they have developed further expanding apps within social and mobile for consumers and publishers, Each designed enable online communication in a better way.
The last financing round of 2010 saw raise $25 million. This round was led by khosla ventures and participants alongside were Sequoia Capital and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. To date the company has raised $62.5 million.
Both Google and Meebo could not be reached to comment on this but speculation it that processes are being placed.
